I totally meant to post this last December and it totally slipped my mind until tonight when they replayed the Saturday Night Live episode that had Justin Timberlake as the guest/musical guest. That episode was the best SNL episode I've seen in a long time. In fact, I downloaded it from iTunes, I liked it so much. Justin is really talented and I love how he can make fun of himself. Marcus really liked the "Homelessville" sketch (I can't find it anymore to link to it-it's been removed) and quotes the danged thing all the time. The following one was my favorite (WARNING: the following video is adult content/may not be safe for work):
I have been doing a lot of web wandering the last couple of days. I don't know how I came across it, but I saw this really cool Simpsons drawing that was posted on deviantART (an online art community if you're not familiar with it):
*spacecoyote was offered work with Bongo Comics owned and started by none other than Matt "Simpsons" Groening. She will be doing pencil work for a short manga style version of the Simpsons and on top of that has been contacted by 20th Century Fox to potentially work on the upcoming relaunch of Futurama!
How freakin' awesome is that?
Here's the original work the artist based the drawing on:
I decided today that I've got to find someplace I can go swimming relatively inexpensively. There is no way I'm setting foot in that lousy excuse of a pool we have at our park here. I've been checking around and even open swimming at the nearby rec center is pricey.
I used to swim a couple of days a week at least while I was in college. It was free to swim at the campus pools with my student ID. I used to get to swim with Broncos players that were doing physical therapy in the pool during their training camp. Even though I have always been overweight, I was in pretty decent shape then. I haven't been able to swim since Marcus and I went to Missouri a while back.
I need to invest in a new suit, though. My suit is in horrible shape. I think I've had that suit since before I met Marcus. I really hate looking for large women swimwear, though. The selection is miniscule at most stores around here, even at plus size stores. Hopefully I'll be able to find a decent suit using my old friend Internet. I'm really liking this suit over at Swimsuits For All. I've always been partial to suits with a cross strap back.
Well, my mouth is feeling better today. I used cotton swabs to scrape all the white spots off the roof of my mouth. I used a plaque rinse and really brushed my tongue and rinsed my mouth out with salt water. I steered clear of my morning mouthwash and avoided sugar today. I picked up some plain yogurt with live cultures on the way home from work and had it for a snack when I got home. Hopefully this will clear up for good soon. It makes me horribly thirsty, though. *sigh* Figures I write about this stuff just as I get picked for "blog of the day", huh? Too funny.
